Ryner and Mary first met Tessa Virtue when she was nine years old and studying dance with Jennifer Swan in London, Ontario. At that time, Ryner was composing original music for Swan Studio Dance performances.
Years later, Ryner was thrilled to be part of Tessa and Scott’s Olympic performance team as he arranged Symphony No. 5 by Gustav Mahler for their gold medal performance. It was a thrill to be in Vancouver to watch Tessa and Scott win the ice dance competition.
